My most recent gig took me to Florida to photograph 10 Model Homes for Maronda Homes. I have a lot people asking about interiors lighting. Below is my typical set-up for this shot.
I use 3 speedlites, Canon 600 EX-RT and 1 Gary Fong diffuser mounted to camera for fill light. Pointing the flashes in corners help alleviate shadows and fills the room with additional light. Try to get them farther than what's shown.
Using an iPad for me is a HUGE advantage, mainly for composition. I use a CamRanger that connects the camera to the iPad through WIFI. You can control every option of your camera on an iPad.
Capturing the image is only half the battle. I usually work with 2-5 images in camera raw then bring into photoshop and blend all the images together using layer masks. Basically exposing for the outside windows and the interior lighting.
Before & After Exterior
Here's the Before and After for the dusk shot. Remove signage and added a garage door and a few photoshop tweaks.
